SJSU Judo Summer & Fall Recap
SJSU Judo has had an eventful summer and fall semester full of training camps and competitions across national and international stages.
Summer kicked off with the USA Judo Junior Olympic Championships, where four SJSU members earned medals and two secured spots as Junior World Team alternatives.
The summer continued with an intensive training camp in Japan as the team prepared for the FISU World University Games in Germany. SJSU athletes gained valuable experience against elite international competitors before heading into a post-Games training camp in Munich.
Throughout the fall semester, SJSU judo members competed in major IJF and USA Judo events worldwide, including the Qingdao Grand Prix, World Junior Championships, Zagreb Grand Prix, Montreal Pan-American Open, and national tournaments. Standout performances came at the San Jose Open, Dallas Open, and USA Judo President’s Cup, where SJSU athletes collected numerous gold, silver, and bronze medals across senior and junior divisions.
