The Global Judo Project (GJP)
The GJP supports programs that provide training, development, equipment and competitive opportunities for judo athletes and programs in underserved regions. Through targeted funding, the GJP supports programs that create lasting impact on and off the mat.
Our Mission
Originally focused on programs on Mt. Everest in Nepal, the project has expanded its mission to support judo initiatives across Africa, South Asia, including Pakistan, and other regions in need of resources and development opportunities.
We honor the original donor intent by continuing programs in Nepal, while new donations allow us to broaden our reach and create more opportunities for young athletes globally.

Everest Judo
The Everest Judo Project, spearheaded by Judo Olympian Sabrina Filzmoser, focuses on expanding access to judo training and opportunity in underserved communities on Mt. Everest and surrounding regions.

Nkoroi Judo Club
The YULF supported the development and expansion of the judo program at the Nkoroi Mixed Secondary School, located in Nairobi, Kenya. With objectives of promoting the values of Judo, student social and physical well-being, and providing opportunities to underprivileged students, the program is helping to create a safer, healthier, and more hopeful future for the youth and the wider community in the area.

STEM to Summit
The STEM to Summit program combines STEM education, leadership development, and sport-based learning to challenge students to solve real-world problems while working across cultures and disciplines. By integrating education, judo, and cross-cultural collaboration, the program reflects the values that defined Yosh Uchida’s legacy: discipline, perseverance, respect, and the pursuit of excellence both on and off the mat.
