  • Founder

  • Len Tedeschiis vice president and deputy general manager, Dielectric Deposition Products (DDP) at Applied Materials. Len is directly responsible for the customer facing functions in the business unit, along with the DDP products designed for advanced packaging. His focus is ensuring customers are successful with their current products, while simultaneously solving customer’s future high value problems.

    Len has worked at Applied for >23 years and has > 30 years of semiconductor experience in roles ranging from product development & support, productivity, technical strategy, marketing, and general management. Len has worked with a variety of products and technologies including etch, deposition, plating, bonding, lithography, metrology, and inspection.

    Prior to joining DDP, Len held Sr. leadership positions Applied’s Heterogenous Integration & Etch Business Units in a wide variety of customer focused positions. Len has >15 patents granted, mainly as the lead author. 

    Len began his career in 1995 as a lithography equipment engineer at IDT in Santa Clara, California.

    He earned a bachelor of science degree in industrial technology from San Jose State University in 1995, where he served as captain of the university’s judo team, winning two collegiate national titles, and competing in the 1996 US Olympic Judo Trials.

  • Marti Malloy serves as President and CEO of the Yosh Uchida Legacy Foundation. An alum of San José State University and a proud product of its historic judo program, Marti is a two-time Olympian and 2012 Olympic bronze medalist in judo. Beyond competition, she has become a leading voice in athlete advocacy and currently works with LA28 to help deliver the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games in Los Angeles.

    Driven by a deep commitment to service, inspired by her late coach Yosh Uchida, Marti helped launch YULF with fellow SJSU Judo alumni to ensure that future generations can benefit from the same opportunities that shaped her life through judo.

  • Brad Albrecht is retired as a pioneer in the Cyber Security field, with a long history of working in the security space, both physical and information based. Brad has fueled his career from his curiosity and desire to help defend others in an increasingly advanced technology space that impacts nearly everything in our daily lives. 

    As a combat veteran, Brad served in the United States Army during the Dessert Storm conflict. Brad also spent 15 years at Microsoft leading various Information Security focused teams, including MSN Online Security, Windows Defender's Anti-Virus Research, and Office Security. Before retiring, Brad and several security professionals started CrowdStrike as a focus on addressing a growing threat from foreign nation states. At CrowdStrike, Brad lead the endpoint engineering team as a Senior Director, focusing on building the component that protects millions of machines globally.

    Brad became interested in Judo when he and his 11-year-old son started together. After over 15 years, he continues to practice today, spending his time supporting his local community as well as the San Jose State University's Judo team. Brad is known to share his belief that "Judo is Life".

  • Lydia Uchida-Sakai is a founding member of the Yoshihiro Uchida Legacy Foundation and is the current Board Secretary. She is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley in Environmental Studies and received her teaching credential and Masters in Education for San Jose State University. Lydia (who is recently retired) has been a teacher, a manager of medical laboratory office personnel, travel agency manager, restaurant owner, and most importantly a supporter of the SJSU Judo team, and Judo community, since she was a child.

    Lydia is married to Steve Sakai, and they have 2 sons, Michael and Kyle. Kyle is married to Dr. Ahn Thu Tran and they have a daughter (Yosh’s great grand daughter) Amelia.

  • Mike Swain is a dedicated board member of the Yosh Uchida Legacy Foundation, continuing the mission of his mentor and former coach, the legendary Yosh Uchida. Swain is currently the Head Coach of the SJSU Judo program, a role that connects him directly to the program's storied history under Uchida.

    A globally recognized judoka, Swain is a 4-time Olympian (1984, 1988, 1992, and qualified for the boycotted 1980 Games) and the first male judoka from the United States to win a World Championship (1987). His impressive athletic career also includes a bronze medal at the 1988 Olympics and silver medals at the 1985 and 1989 World Championships. He later served as the 1996 US Olympic Judo coach for the Atlanta Games.

    Beyond the mat, Swain is the VP of Martial Arts and Fitness at Dollamur Sports (formerly his company, Swain Sports), a major supplier of martial arts equipment. He is a San Jose State University alumnus, having graduated in 1985 with a degree in business marketing. Swain’s profound connection to the program and his distinguished career make him an invaluable steward of the Yosh Uchida legacy.

  • Keith Nakasone serves as a board member of the Yosh Uchida Legacy Foundation.  He was born and raised in Okinawa, Japan.  He is an alumni of San Jose State University and the San Jose State Judo program from 1974-1979.  He has been involved with the judo program for the past 50 years.  Under the tutelage of Coach Yosh Uchida and coaches in Japan, he was able to make the 1980 Olympic team, 1978 Pan American team and the 1977 World team.

     Keith graduated with a Business Management degree and started his career in the Semiconductor industry in Silicon Valley.  He spent 41 years in the Semiconductor business, retiring in 2021.

    Keith is a volunteer assistant coach for the SJSU judo program.  It is his commitment to ensure the legacy of Coach Uchida by continuing to develop world class student athletes who will become key contributors to society.

  • Dr. Bob Nishime has served as the Team Physician for the San José State University Judo Team since 1997. He is dedicated to advancing health and safety through judo training and participation, while also supporting athletes in their educational and competitive endeavors. In addition to his role with the judo team, Dr. Bob is the Team Physician for all athletic programs at SJSU. Beyond the university, he serves as a Team Physician for the San Francisco 49ers and is a member of the medical staff for the San Jose Earthquakes. Previously, he held the position of Chairman of Sports Medicine and served as Head Team Physician for USA Judo for 15 years. Dr. Bob currently practices both Family Medicine and Sports Medicine at Japan Town Medical Group, located in San Jose.
