First Grant Recipient of the Youth Judo Program: Logyn Puahala
With the recent launch of the Youth Judo Program(YJP), The Yoshihiro Uchida Legacy Foundation is thrilled to announce the program’s first recipient: Logyn Puahala. Logyn Puahala, a 15-year-old judoka from Hawaii Kaikaku Judo Club, exemplifies the spirit and dedication that the YJP aims to support. This year, she earned gold at the Hawaii High School State Championships and won another gold at the 2025 USA Judo Junior Olympics in the cadet division to make the 2025 Cadet World Team.

We are incredibly proud to support Logyn as the first recipient of the YJP. Logyn’s accomplishments at such a young age not only reflect her talent, but also her commitment and passion to the sport of judo.
Your Support Makes a Difference
Recently, the YJP funded Logan to participate in the Montreal Cadet and Junior Panamerican Cup in Montreal, Canada. Despite falling short in the Junior Division(U21), Logyn was able to bring home silver in the Cadet Division(U17) at the young age of fifteen. Following these results, Logyn moves up in the Cadet world rankings to 61st place!
As the YULF celebrates its first YJP recipient and result, we invite you to be part of this growing project. Together, we can empower and support more young judokas across the nation.
