The YULF focuses on priorities and programs that nurture talent and empower student athletes, including:
Fund World Class Coaches: Ensure the student judoka have the best coaching expertise for continual development.
Travel Support: Fund students to attend national and international competitions and training camps.
Training Camps: Bring outside talent to our doorstep via training camps that ensure exposure and access to world-class coaches and athletes.
Scholarships: Enable athletes to pursue higher education while training full-time ensures we are building champions on and off the mat.
Facilities: Support all needs as it pertains to training spaces and ongoing team operations.
Youth Judo Project: Initiatives that support the recruitment and development of future Judo students from the youth level up is imperative to continuing Uchida’s legacy.
Women’s Judo Initiative: Initiatives that empower the next generation of female judoka. Built on the principles of empowerment, education and leadership, this initiative is a step toward gender equity in judo on and off the mat.
Business Experience: Involving students in daily YULF operations through paid business experiences and leadership roles is the cornerstone of our mission.
